Casey's General Store -  August 2007 Merchant of the Month

The Hamilton Merchant's Association is proud to announce Casey's General Store has been named August's Merchant of the Month. Located at 1825 Keokuk Street, (Hwy 136), in Hamilton, Casey's has been serving the community at its present location for more than 11 years.

Casey's General Stores, Inc., headquartered in Ankeny, IA, owns and operates over 1,390 convenience stores in nine Midwestern states. When Casey's stores first began popping up in the 1960's, it was to fill a niche in small communities. Don Lamberti, its founder, began by building his stores in communities of 5,000 or less. Casey's has a long history of getting involved in the community and the Hamilton store is no exception. It recently helped in the revamping of the high school football field as well as provided support to the Hamilton Homecoming Days celebration. The Hamilton Casey's store also has the distinction of being recognized as #1 in its district in regard to National Fundraising Efforts such as drives for St. Jude's Children's Hospital, Juvenile Diabetes, MDA and the March of Dimes, to name a few. This recognition would not have been possible without Casey's loyal and generous customers.

Rhonda Wharton, manager of Casey's in Hamilton, has over fifteen years of retail management experience. She and her staff of ten friendly, customer oriented team members are available each day from 6:00 am - 11:00 pm to provide the quality of service for which Casey's is famous. Rhonda also points out there are excellent advancement opportunities within the company for those wishing to become a part of the Casey's team. A good work ethic and desire to become a team player replaces the need for a college degree.

Casey's recently updated kitchen and food preparation area offers many choices for breakfast, lunch and dinner. A variety of cold subs, salads and sandwiches are available anytime. The kitchen, open from 6:00 - 8:00 am for bakery and breakfast items, offers tasty bacon or sausage breakfast pizza, biscuit or croissant breakfast sandwiches and a variety of potatoes. Coffee is made fresh every hour. Lunch is served daily from 10:30 am - 2:00 pm. At lunch time you will find any number of quality, hot food items to get you through the long afternoon. The menu choices include chicken tenders, ham n' cheese sandwiches, hamburgers, cheeseburgers, bacon cheeseburgers and more. And, of course, there is always everyone's favorite, "Homemade Pizza Slices To Go". Casey's signature pizzas are made fresh to order, the way you like 'em! The kitchen staff expertly prepares the hand tossed pizza dough from scratch then adds your favorite toppings. Rhonda says, "We try to keep the self service warmer full, but you're always welcome to order off the menu with minimal waiting time."
