Kelley Motor Company was established by Patrick and Debra Kelley in
early 2002. Pat and Debra went to work clearing trees from the property,
renovating the existing shop, and building a new sales facility.
Proudly, they opened Kelley Motor Company for business in July of 2002
and were off and running with much appreciated customer support from
Hamilton and the surrounding communities..jpg)
Patrick Kelley is the "driving" force of the business making sure all
runs smoothly. Pat has been in the automotive business since 1984. Pat's
mother, Lucille Kelley, would call Pat a "chip off the old car peddler
block." Pat's father operated a Ford dealership in Nauvoo from 1948
until 1966. Pat's wife, Debbie, handles bookkeeping and is the company's
"mother." Patrick and Debbie enjoy boating, cooking, and large family
dinners with their children and grandchildren.
Their son, Tyson Kelley, is the "do-it-all guy." Tyson purchases
vehicles, reconditions vehicles, and is also in sales. Tyson has been
with the company since day one and is PK's "right hand man." Tyson and
his wife, Vanessa, live north of Hamilton with their two children,
Tristin and Owen. Pat and Debbie's daughter, Trisha Kelley, manages the
company website
www.kelleymotorcompany.com, and handles some of the record keeping
and attends college. Their son, Jeremy Kelley, and his wife Colista
recently opened their own computer store in Carthage called Woot-PC
Sales and Service. They live in Nauvoo, IL, with their four children:
Tristan, Cedric, Liam, and Asher. Jeremy also is the technology guy for
the Kelley Motor Company setting up the website and maintaining the
on-site computers.
Kevin Stambaugh joined the Kelley Motor Company in 2003 and is the
"friendly sales guy." Kevin lives in Keokuk, IA, with his wife, Regina,
and their daughter Elizabeth.
The Kelley's seem to have a knack for filling the lot with extremely
nice cars, trucks, vans, and sport utility vehicles all at affordable
prices. I asked Pat to explain a little about vehicle pricing. He
replied, "We adhere to an aggressive pricing strategy which calls for
pricing each vehicle below book value. These prices are clearly marked
on each vehicle for our customer's convenience. Most of our inventory
includes a thirty day warranty for their peace of mind. Warranty
coverage can be extended up to 100,000 miles for a fraction of the cost
charged by many competitors. We have excellent relationships with a
variety of lenders to meet your financing needs."
The inventory at Kelley Motors Changes on a daily basis. If you are
seeking a specific vehicle, please let them know. They have many contact
across the tri-state area helping give them access to whatever the
customer may desire in a vehicle. In a way, they are like a "little used
car factory."
When I asked the Kelley's what they enjoyed most about having their
business in Hamilton community, they expressed, "Our customers seem to
enjoy the easy-going down-home environment we offer which seems to be
missing in much of the marketplace today."
