The Hamilton Community Development Coalition met on January 8, 2008 at the Hamilton City Hall. Minutes from the December meeting were read and placed on file; as was the December Financial Report. As of January 10, 2008 the Coalition and Hamilton Merchant’s will have separate checking accounts to ease the bookkeeping procedures for both groups.

Election of Officers was held with the following elected for a one year term: President – Roger MacDermott, Vice President – Traudi Chiaravalloti, Secretary – Susan Sewell and Treasurer – Wendy Swank. Richard Hartweg thanked the group for all of their support during his time as president.

The following reports were given:

Bridge - Work will progress as the weather warms. Reports were given on the welding and the engineering. Board donations are still being accepted at the Hamilton City Hall. Mike Taylor is working on the design for the replica of the toll booth where the list of the board memorials will be displayed. Coalition members expressed their thanks to the employees at Hamilton City Hall for their support and help with the coalition’s efforts.

Junction Water - Still in the works for spring; with the city to run the water and the coalition to pay for the materials.

Kiosk at the Junction - Dick Hartweg reported that Hamilton will be getting a kiosk at the junction site with more details about the design and wording to follow.

Mississippi River Drive - One planning meeting has been held with the event to be scheduled for the last weekend in September.

Under old business the coalition will have a booth at Bald Eagle Days January 19th and 20th promoting Hamilton, the coalition, and selling items such as the historical prints and t-shirts. Traudi Chiaravalloti designed a series of gift cards to go with the board donations during the recent holiday season and is expanding the selection to include note cards that will be available during Eagle Days.

On the agenda for the February meeting is planning for the spring city-wide garage sales and working on plans for the June 21st and 22nd Hamilton Homecoming Days. The meeting will be Tuesday, February 12th at Hamilton City Hall at 7:00 p.m.
